For CORE courses, groups, retreats, workshops, and related offerings
1. Voluntary Participation
I understand that participation in CORE is voluntary. CORE is a Christian religious-formation, discipleship, reflection, and educational program. I may decline to answer a question, participate in a particular discussion or exercise, or disclose personal information, subject to any reasonable participation requirements communicated for the offering.
2. Religious and Educational Nature; No Professional Services
I understand that CORE content, facilitators, exercises, discussions, and materials are not medical care, psychotherapy, psychiatric care, diagnosis, treatment, crisis intervention, legal advice, financial advice, or a substitute for services from a qualified professional. Participation does not create a therapist-patient, doctor-patient, attorney-client, fiduciary, counseling, or similar professional relationship with CORE.
I understand that personal, spiritual, relational, and emotional reflection can sometimes be uncomfortable or bring up difficult thoughts, memories, or emotions. I remain responsible for deciding whether and how I participate and for seeking appropriate professional or emergency help when needed.
3. Independent Local Host and Facilitators
Unless CORE expressly states otherwise in a separate signed agreement, a church, ministry, parish, venue, Local Host, and facilitator conducting an Authorized CORE Offering is independent from CORE and is not CORE’s employee, agent, joint venturer, partner, counselor, health professional, clergy representative, or legal representative.
CORE does not control every act or omission of independent hosts, facilitators, venues, transportation providers, food providers, or other third parties.
4. No Guaranteed Outcome
I understand that CORE does not promise or guarantee any particular spiritual, emotional, relational, health, financial, professional, or other result. My beliefs, decisions, relationships, conduct, and use of CORE concepts remain my responsibility.
5. Participant Conduct and Confidentiality
I agree to respect the dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of other participants. I will not record, publish, livestream, post, distribute, or commercially use another participant’s statements, image, voice, personal story, or confidential group discussion without the permissions required by law and any applicable CORE or Local Host rules.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS DOCUMENT AFFECTS LEGAL RIGHTS. IT IS SEPARATE FROM CORE’S PHYSICAL-RISK WAIVER.

I understand that CORE and the Local Host cannot guarantee that another participant will keep information confidential, and I will use appropriate judgment regarding what I choose to share.
6. General Release Relating to Program Content and Participation
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, I RELEASE AND DISCHARGE CORE AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AUTHORIZED AGENTS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS FROM CLAIMS ARISING SOLELY FROM MY VOLUNTARY USE OF CORE CONTENT OR PARTICIPATION IN CORE’S RELIGIOUS, EDUCATIONAL, DISCUSSION, REFLECTION, OR NON-PHYSICAL EXERCISES, INCLUDING CLAIMS BASED ON MY PERSONAL INTERPRETATION, RELIANCE, DISCLOSURE, DECISIONS, OR EXPECTATIONS, EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT A CLAIM CANNOT LAWFULLY BE RELEASED.
This Participant Release is not intended to replace the separate CORE Waiver and Assumption of Risk for bodily injury, property damage, premises, travel, meals, physical activities, or other event-specific physical risks.
7. CORE Materials and Intellectual Property
I understand that participation does not transfer ownership of CORE Materials or authorize me to copy, teach, modify, translate, publish, upload to AI systems, distribute, commercialize, or create derivative or competing materials except as CORE expressly permits in writing or in its applicable Terms of Use.
8. Optional Media / Testimonial Authorization — Separate Permission
My participation in CORE is not conditioned on granting promotional permission. I may choose one option below.
- NO — I do not authorize promotional use of my name, likeness, voice, image, story, testimonial, photograph, audio, or video except as otherwise required by law.
- YES — I separately authorize CORE to use the specific photographs, recordings, statements, stories, testimonials, name, likeness, voice, and biographical information that I knowingly provide or approve for promotional use.
If I select YES, I grant CORE and its affiliates, successors, service providers, and permitted sublicensees a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, and sublicensable license to reproduce, copy, distribute, transmit, publish, publicly display, publicly perform, edit, crop, excerpt, translate, subtitle, dub, reformat, adapt, and otherwise use the authorized material for CORE’s religious, educational, ministry, fundraising, communications, publicity, and promotional purposes in any media now known or later developed, including outside the United States. Unless separately agreed in writing, no additional compensation is due.

9. Governing Law; Severability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, this Release is governed by South Carolina law without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
Any non-personal-injury dispute also remains subject to any applicable CORE Terms of Use or separate written agreement accepted by the participant.
10. Acknowledgment
I HAVE READ THIS PARTICIPANT RELEASE, ACKNOWLEDGMENT & CONSENT. I UNDERSTAND IT, HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASK QUESTIONS, AND SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY. I UNDERSTAND THAT A SEPARATE WAIVER AND ASSUMPTION-OF-RISK FORM MAY APPLY TO PHYSICAL OR EVENT-SPECIFIC RISKS.
